Distribution cabinet Functions
- Power Distribution: Transform high-voltage power from the external grid into low-voltage power suitable for hospital departments. Distribute it to branch circuits to power electrical and medical equipment, and lighting systems.
- Circuit Control and Protection: Use switches and circuit breakers to control circuit on-off for maintenance and emergency response. Provide overload, short-circuit, and leakage protection, cutting off circuits quickly in case of anomalies to safeguard equipment and personnel.
- Monitoring and Metering: Equip with voltmeters, ammeters, and power meters to display real-time power parameters like voltage, current, and power. Also, use an electric energy metering device for accurate power consumption statistics, facilitating cost accounting and energy management.
Component Structure
- Incoming Line Section: Consist of incoming line circuit breakers, isolating switches, and current transformers. The circuit breaker controls main power on-off and cuts off during failures. The isolating switch offers a clear disconnection point for maintenance, and the current transformer measures incoming current for protection and metering.
- Busbar: Usually made of copper or aluminum, it connects electrical components in the distribution cabinet, gathering and distributing power. It has good conductivity and mechanical strength to bear high currents.
- Outgoing Line Section: Contain multiple outgoing circuits, each with independent protection and control components such as circuit breakers, contactors, and thermal relays. These components distribute power according to department or equipment needs and protect circuits from overloads and short-circuits.
- Control and Protection Circuit: Comprise relays, fuses, and control switches to control, protect, and signal the main distribution cabinet. For example, control relays enable remote or automatic control, and fuses cut off faulty circuits during short-circuits.
- Instrument and Signal Devices: Include measuring instruments like voltmeters, ammeters, power meters, and watt-hour meters, along with signal devices such as indicator lights and alarm devices. Instruments monitor power parameters, and indicator lights and alarms show equipment operation status and fault information.
