The shell material of the substation mainly utilizes stainless steel, Aluminum alloy, Cold-rolled plate, or non-metal materials. Prefabricated Substation is also called European type transformer substation. It can complete the transformation, distribution, transmission, measurement, and compensation of electrical energy, system control, and protection as well as communication functions.
This substation normally comprises three compartments inside: High voltage compartment (equipped with high/medium voltage switchgear, such as ring main unit, gas insulated switchgear, its rated voltage can reach up to 40.5kv maximum), Low voltage compartment, and Transformer compartment (equipped with three-phase oil-immersed transformer or cast resin dry-type transformer).

It is a complete set of power supply equipment integrated with H.V. controlling, protection, converting, and distribution. Widely applied in 3-phase AC 50Hz and rated capacity max 1600KVA systems.
